Who hunts with 66 inch longbow? Just curious? :)

It seems no matter what, I come back to a 66" bow for some reason.  I shoot all the bows I build and built a 62" for myself.  I enjoyed it but seemed that the 66" bow is the one I grab whether it is a take-down or one piece, I just seem to like that length best!!!!!!!

The best bow that I've ever made was a 66" hickory backed ipe in an pseudo-ELB style.  It will likely be my deer hunting bow this fall.

66" r/d for me of my own make.  Long enough for stability and smoothness of draw yet short enough to get through the brush sufficiently.

I recently got a 66" Jay St. Charles Pacfic Yew Classic and man i love this bow. Like Mmgrode said it is....."Long enough for stability and smoothness of draw yet short enough to get through the brush sufficiently"

Two weeks ago I was able to sneak up to within 10 feet of a sleeping boar with it!!!

The longer the more for giving and smoother to pull, I shoot 62", 64", 66", and one 68", all are 28" draw I draw around 27". also they are all around #50 to #56.

I have a 26" draw and my 3 go to bows (in any order)are listed below. All are at 50 to 51Lbs and seem to like 27.5" Easton 1916 Legacys with 100 grains. The two longbows also like 1816's and the recurve shoots 2016's nicely also.

I shoot a 68" longbow I made myself. I pull 63# at 29" and it throws a 2219 with authority. I don't have any problem with manueverability. I figure if I can get through the brush then my bow can.

I FEEL like the longer bows give me better cast with my 32" draw. Most of my longbows are 66" but I prefer the 68" bows. I asked Jerry Brumm to make me a 70"er. We're working out the details now.

I got a 66in Horne Traditionalist that I'm gonna give a whirl this hunting season. It's the only longbow I've ever tried that I can shoot well. I'm sure the unique grip has something to with it!

I have shot shorter longbows but my 66" Wes Wallace Royal seems to be a nice length for me. I just ordered a 68" Royal, looking forward to seeing the difference, if any.
