i switched to aluminium this year and cant get the color markers to take on them wandering if i put a clear wrap on them would that make the color stick

That's a darn good question.
I say try one and see. Seems to me it would take a lot of drying time for it to have a chance to stay on though. Sure would be nice if it worked.

Try to color them first then put the wrap clear wrap on. I would think a sharpie would come off of the clear wrap also.

Mask off the area(s) you want to stripe..spray paint and then Sharpie your heart out.
If you want to protect the striping,use polycrylic
..Many varnishes,sealers will make the marker run..don't ask how I know.8>)
