Buffalo--widow pl ?
« on: April 19, 2013, 09:25:00 PM »
Big Jim buffalo and black widow pl seem to be very similar in design.  My question is to those that have shot both, are they similar in performance also? Thanks

I have two Buffs as well and really like them both. Would like a 64" next. Have shot the BW recurve's but not the PL's have a buddy that shot a PL and he loved it so I think they are both great choices.

I have shot both the BJ Buff and the BW Pl, I prefer the Buff.  I am on Big Jim's list for a   Thunderchild.    :bigsmyl:

I have both. Other than grip I can't really tell them apart. Both very good bows. Big jim can make one that is much more beautiful than a widow IMO

Your going to find compelling cases for both bows. The only way you'll know for your self is to shoot them both. I know it's easier said than done, but thats it. If you test drive a Widow, then send it back, your only out on shipping cost's. Then if you find a Buffalo that someone will let you shoot,or you buy one second hand for a fair price, you'll have your answer. It's one of those,"If you want to play, you've got to pay" deals. But,even if you bought a Buff' used, and did'nt like it,you can re-coupe your funds easy enough. Good luck, rat'

BW hands down. The BJ handle and tips seems 'clunky' to me. Performance about equal though.

I've shot both,  and prefer the Widows.  I like the Thunderchild, but prefer the Widow PL to the Buffalo.
