Hog addiction ?
« on: April 25, 2013, 12:24:00 PM »
So my flight landed me in dallas today with a long layover and the only thing I can think about is hog hunting, just wondering if anybody else out there has that same problem.

YES, but it's not a problem, lol. I've been hunting them for the last 11 years and can't imagine living in a state where I couldn't hunt them year round.

I've even named my 3-d hog decoy Raymond in honor of Ray Hammond's Hog Heaven!

Not quite the same as being there, but if's fun to imagine until the next time I make it to South Carolina (or Georgia, or Florida .... - coming to see ya next year Jim    ;)   )

I named my 3-D hog target Peg. Its front leg is broken off and I have it propped up with a block of styrofoam.

Almost every shot I take in practice is at an imaginary hog. It could be a bag target, a clump of grass, or a stump, its always a "low and tight".

Just yesterday I bought new glasses that I figured should work perfectly on my next trip to Hog Heaven. I didn't go for looks, office work compatability, or even price. They should be great for shooting and hunting hogs.

Heck, I even dream about hunting hogs!

I just got home today from 3 days of turkey and hog hunting. I did not get anything this time, but that only makes me want to go again soon!

I too an glad that I can hunt the hogs year around where I hunt.

I am very envious of you folks that can hunt them whenever you choose.

oh boy...could I spend a half a day talking about hog hunting!
Let's just say I'm crazy enough about hog hunting to have started a small guiding business with my partner Jim Dussias.
I live way up here in WI. and our business is in Florida.
That's OK, I get to hunt with and guide nice folks like all of you tradgangers all Winter and avoid most of our cold weather.
Hogs are where it's at!... After WI. deer season that is...

Me too! I've been in Tx for 4yrs and only had a chance at one hog.  At nite and using my headlamp light.  Lost the trail but dying for another opportunity.  Just wish the hogs near me watched those shows...feeder goes off they run in, in daylight, shoot they run off & come back, etc LOL
