I bought a Drake reproduction from EB Holcomb years ago that was 45lbs at my 26" draw. I couldn't get any of my arrows to fly with it so kind of put it aside until I could make up some woods for it.
Finally I picked up the bow again and figured GT 1535's should work since they fly out of my 47lb Palmer. They flew, but they were hitting the shelf since the shelf is flat and does not have any radius to it at all. I assume the bow was made to shoot from an elevated rest. So I went to the Trad Gang search function to find out about elevated rests. I saw some topics about feather rests and I was intrigued to say the least.
Trad Gang's member TRAP came highly recommended so I contacted him and ordered two rests. Trap sent me an email saying he was a little backed up after my order which wasn't a big deal to me at all. I got the package on Friday and low and behold Trap included an extra rest inside at no additional charge. Talk about great customer service.
I finally was able to get to the range and tune the bow with the new rest and WOW did it ever solve my problem. It works like a charm and it looks great too. Thanks Trap!
