Packing out meat tip
« on: April 29, 2013, 12:18:00 AM »
For those who pack meat out on their backs after getting an animal on the ground, I have something that helps: onion sacks. After boning out the meat and placing it in game bags, the bag can be (for lack of a better term) sloppy. After placing the meat in the game bag, use a onion sack to place those bags into. They are light weight and breathable and give the whole thing some "body". They can usually be attained from a grocery store for next to nothing and don't take up much room and they are strong. Just a little tip that might help out this fall!

I like it.  I often use a couple of extra straps or 550 cord that I carry, but I may use this trick.  Cheaper than Kifaru's version too=)

Used them to tie heart and livers in the chest while dragging out deer. Work well. Thx for another tip
