Dakota Extreme Jake Decoy
« on: April 30, 2013, 07:20:00 PM »
I have read the reviews and it boils down to this one or the DSD jake. The problem is the DSD is very pricey and I found a great buy on a Dakota Jake. If anyone has used one I am curious as to what you thought. I ordered a Dakota and had it overnighted for about half of a DSD. Thanks! Shawn

I looked at both and the Avian X from Zink and went with the Avian.  Three gobblers were taken over it in 4 hunts this season.  I just found it to be more portable.

I bought a Dakota this year. I've had birds come in and hit it both times I've been out so far this year. Dakota,DSD,Avian X just pick one. They're all so detailed I don't think it really matters. I've killed a bunch of birds over the cheap foldable foam decoys in the past.I think the more realistic dekes do keep the birds in them longer and not as suspicious.

I bow killed a bird over a  borrowed DSD this spring. Great decoy!!!! I will definetly upgrade my spread to these dekes for next year.

I have killed plenty of birds with the cheapies as well, just looking to see what others say. I read a thread on AT and man it was brutal. I do think the DSD is the cats meow and may eventually try one, but also know turkeys ain't to bright, but if something keeps them interested longer than that helps for a bow kill! Shawn

Shawn, if you look at the DSD and the dakota extreme there are very subtle differences.  I have the dakota and have had great results with it so far the past couple of years.  Both are very nice.

Dirty, I bought the BTD one because of the price, but also I liked the posture a bit more. Thanks for the link! Shawn

I have one and it looks great IMO. carrying handle is nice and I like that you can set it to turn 360 degrees or limit its movement.
