Lefty Vixen Longbow from JD Berry
« on: May 05, 2013, 02:16:00 PM »
Here’s a look at a Vixen American style long bow that I recommended a buddy of mine to order.  He is new to traditional archery and let me do some choosing for him.  I recommended JD Berry and Mr. Berry did not let him down.  Check her out. .. 47@28, 68” LH.  The woods really give an amazing contrast.  Yew on the face and belly, Brazilian Walnut riser, and blonde- bamboo cores.   Tell you what, if this was a righty, I think this bow would get lost at my house –LOL.  Can’t shoot left so I can only assume she fires like the RH Vixen I own - Assertive and quiet.  Anyhow, thought I would share a beautiful creation from JD Berry and welcome my friend into traditional archery.  Enjoy the pics!

Oh, cripes, why did you have to go and do that after I have been trying not to order one of those?  HUH?  Just love to stir up trouble, huh?   :saywhat:   It's even left handed!  It's even my weight.  :banghead:   Seems the words from a famous song of a few years back are coming to mind--remember "The Streak"?  "Don't look Ethel!"  But I already did!

Jwhitetail, if I fall off the wagon, so help me, it is all your fault.   :jumper:

Another outstanding creation by James. The vixen is my "holy grail" of bows.  I just cannot seem to miss when I have the vixen with me. Absolutely stunning.

LOL - Sorry David!  Believe it or not, I am in the same shape... I had to grit my teeth when I went out to pick her up.  I will be living in the shed with my dog if I order any more bows ... BUT... a vixen in the upper 40's is reeeeeeaaaly tempting  :bigsmyl:  .  Anyhow, I cant wait to see it shoot.  I'll post some pics when my buddy strings her up.

Jerry I look forward to shooting with you and your friend at EVA Archery Range for some badly needed practice, me that is. James will let me know when we can get together. Shawn I pulled the bow back at the morning coffee table at Jame's and oh yea it's real smooth.

Just like mine. Mine's a bit lighter for 3D. JD is terrific and so are his bows!

That is a good looking longbow. I like the contrast in color of the lighter bamboo core with the darker wood.
Jwhitetail, you need to bring JD & Dan to the archery shoot in Packwood,WA Aug 2-4 & all the other Archers who shoot JD Berry Longbows.
