Great conversation with Big Jim
« on: May 11, 2013, 04:05:00 PM »
I am considering ordering a buffalo from Big Jim. I called him yesterday with a few questions. He was such a nice person to talk with. I know he is super busy but he took time from his day to have a long talk with me. Will be getting on his list soon. I am thinking a 62 or 64" buff is in my future if I dont see one in the classifieds soon. Thanks Mr. Jim

My experience with Jim has been the same.  The big guy is good to deal with. He recently called me while he was driving on a trip to let me know about a used bow he had on the rack at KY TradFest that too late I got interested in.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I just received a 64" Buffalo bow,and the whole process from start to finish was great. Good guy to talk with and you won't be disappointed with the Buffalo either. It's now my favorite bow.

Witnessed Big Jim in action behind the scenes at the TN Classic; the big guy also deals in purchasing, trading and moving used bows. There was a lad chomping at the bit to turn loose a chunk of change for a nice used bow in Big Jim’s inventory. Big Jim could only offer little in trade and in great faith clearly explained that this was not a decent option for neither the lad nor his father. The two left for a while and came back with the right decision and thanked the big guy.

I am honored to be Big Jim’s friend.

His bows are probably the most beautiful ever made to your market. Price and quality are excellent and I am sure that we get much more than you pay for .

I bought two bows of the Border, the Hawk Hunter and Black Douglas and both are broken. Hawk after 7 months B.Douglas a month later. I'm very sorry for all the money I did not saved and bought an excellent bow from the Big Jim !!!

Tried calling Jim this morning after seeing a bow on his photo gallery that made my heart jump out of my chest.  That was my definitive moment on what kind of bow I wanted. I got his answering machine left a message and at around 6:30 tonight I got a phone call big Jim . He  apologized to me and told me he would of answered my call this morning but he had rod Jenkins there doing a clinic. (Wow) you guys are right what a nice man. We talked for a good 15-20 min. I find out he's a minnesota boy (originally)   and get this he's from Albany MN.and now lives in Albany GA. What are the odds.
so  anyway    :goldtooth:   I'm on his list. And I can't wait

Big Jim is a class act all around.

I just spent another 30-45 min. On the phone with him. He talked about Rod Jenkins's clinic and we chatted about technique 3 vs split a whole gamut of shooting topics. Nice guy I m not going to talk to him now till he's building my bow. As I was talking to him he was saying he needed to get back to building bows he had two he was currently working on.
Hard guy to stop talking to.
