Hoyt Buffalo Tiller, Brace Height and Nock point
« on: May 22, 2013, 11:11:00 PM »
I am interested in finding out what others have working best for them in relationship to the Tiller, Brace Height and Nocking Point adjustments of their Hoyt Buffalos Bows.

What has worked best for me is:

Tiller = 1/8" positive
Brace Ht. = 8 1/4"
Nock Point 1/8"

Arrow are Easton FMJ 400 with 125 gr. points and double nock pints tied on

Unfortunately Hoyt does not offer a owners manual for this bow and the website suggests brace height to be between 7-8 inches. I could not get the bow to be quiet until the brace was set to 8 1/4"

Short #55 limbs, 54@27in draw, brace height 8 1/4, nock pt. 9/16 above shelf, tiller -1/16 on bottom limb, shoot 3-under.  I also stay above 8in on brace height for a quiet bow and more forgiving as well.
Beman MFX 500's with 100gr inserts and 100gr tips at 28in length.  Brass nock above, tie on nock below.
18str. 8125 string with .026 center serve works perfect with the X nocks and picked up speed over factory string and much quieter with double cut down catwiskers.  500gr arrow shoots 180fps.
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!

Brace height is 8". Nocking point 11/16" above shelf. Tiller is 1/8" positive. 45# short limbs and shooting GT3555 @30'5" and standard inserts and 125 gr. points. Great shooting combo.

looks like we are all in the same ball park, thanks for the replies. I got a new SBD ultra 6 strand string on the way looking forward to see how the performance improves with it.
