light riser, dark limbs

Im trying to come up with wood combos, and I'm thinking of something like a curly maple riser with figured walnut limbs. If you have something like that, please post some pics. Thanks.

Apparently dark limbs don't look so good in the sunlight as it shows streaks in the glass. But as far as combos go, you've got Wenge, Cocobolo, Macassar, walnut and stained bocote which are all really nice darker types.
For the lighter part Zebra wood is great, or myrtle.
Anyway good luck, choosing woods is one of the best parts!

I've got a tulipwood riser with juniper veneers that I think looks awesome. Pictures are in the classifieds. Going to give it another day or so then just keep it.

i had a robertson fatal styk that had a mix of cocobola with myrtle in handle....then juniper limbs....it was a very striking bow.

That juniper looks sharp. I've actually been thinking pretty hard about juniper limbs. The combo with the riser is what hangs me up...
