Hey guys, I recently got a new longbow and I only have one of my old 2016s which is 30 3/4 inches and it flew perfect.  However none of the shops around here carry aluminum anymore and the only one that did said all he had was 2114s.  I looked at the chart and these weigh slightly less per inch.  So the question is could I get a slightly shorter arrow and the spine be right or should I just wait and order some 2016s? I feel like bareshaft tuning would be out of the question because the guy at the shop said they'd be very busy today plus he had no clue what I was talking about anyway.  Any input is much appreciated! Thanks!

A 2016 is .531 deflection and a 2114 is .540. You could get the 2114 to tune. I'd leave them full-length and bareshaft...cut to tune as needed

Should be good. Just take your time with one.

If 2016s fly perfect, just get some more. They are not hard to find.
If it's in your way, move it.

Id stick with the 2016s, go to 3rivers , order and 2-3 days later you have them. Your good to go

I'd say if those 2016s flew good then don't change.  Easton's 500 shafts that are popular are supposed to be 2016s.  Pretty cheap and available.

I have found the 2114 one of the best arrows for bows 45-55#, but your 2016 is already working for you.

Either way I sure wouldn't go back to that shop.  Between being "to busy" and not knowing anything about tuning would make me want to go elsewere.
I find the older I get, the less I used to know!
