Thoughts on Internature Viper
« on: August 30, 2007, 12:02:00 PM »
I'm looking for a basic first longbow, and I like the looks of the Internature Viper Deluxe. It is a reflex/deflex design and it's a bow I can afford. Does anyone have experience with this bow or other bows from this maker? Appreciate any thoughts.

you should go shoot it and let us know what you think. you are the only one who get to make the choice of what is the best for you.
“instinctive archery” is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

I have one, and it is a pretty good bow.

If you are buying one at a shop, shoot it first.  My bow says 50@28 on it, but it actually draws more like 55#.  If you like it enough to buy it, throw it on a scale to confirm the actual draw weight at your draw length, which will make tuning arrows a lot easier.

Hi guys: Problem here is that the two main bow shops  stock one or two traditional bows as an afterthought. They would much rther sell $700 compounds and all their accessories. That means there is almost nothing to try off the shelf.

I Have A viper Deluxe that was my first glass bow, and I would agree with pjsnell, it feels like a heavier draw weight than is marked, but other than that it was a fantastic bow for the price.

I would say then, to try and pick up a used one.  The price would be low enough that it won't be hard to re-sell if you don't like it.
Or try Lost Nation (where I bought mine) from the TradGang sponsor list.  Give Larry a call, he will check the weight for you.
