bow quiver advice
« on: June 07, 2013, 09:29:00 PM »
Hello gang,
I'm tired of my back quiver and don't think it'll serve me well this fall on the hunts I have planned. That being said, I shoot a short ambush recurve from Chuck at two tracks archery. I'm just curious what you guys who shoot really short bows, especially short recurves are using for bow quivers? I tried a quickie quiver but it didn't like the short curvy limbs. Any ideas on one that's not too pricey and will fit the short curvy limbs well?
Now then, get your weapons, your quiver and your bow and go out into the open country to hunt some wild game for me.- Genesis 27:3

Great Northern Kickback Extreme.  You need one that angles the arrows back on those short bows especially.

Thanks steveo, Chuck did suggest that one to me. I just want to know how they shoot and feel/handle on such a short bow from people who are using them.

Marc, Are you liking that quiver for such a short bow? I believe our bows are the same length possibly. Did that quiver affect the tuning any? I always wonder if shorter bows tuning is affected more by a bow quiver than a longer bow.

My TC is 58". It had no effect other than getting used to the added weight on the bow which isn't much. Don's quiver is very light. I like the added weight of a quiver on longbows, particularly the really short/light ones.

I'll second the EFA with the wing.
We are all here because we are not all there.

Right on.  When I shot Super Shrrews all,the way down to the 52", I had GN quivers on them I modifiied myself to get the kickback angle.  They were always some of the lighest out there, especially the longbow model.  Always remeber Paul Brunner putting them on his tiny longbows.

That's the one Bryce, I couldn't remember the name. They are light and stable.
I have looked at, but not used the others, but they are all quality made. Good luck,

Thanks for all the replies guys. So far the EFA with the set back wing is winning my eye for functionality and price. Although the great northern looks sweet as well.

You will not be disappointed with the EFA.  I am on my 5th one.
