Steel Force Hellfire Broadheads?
« on: June 11, 2013, 09:24:00 PM »
I was considering these broadheads for Whitetails this fall. Has anyone used these? What are your thoughts on out-of-the-box sharpness? What are the disadvantages to this four blade style broadhead over two blade styles?

They are great heads that are inexpensive and kill a deer just as dead as any other broadhead you can buy. I've killed deer, hogs and turkey with them with no issues. They are usually sharp enough to use when removed from the package. I personally like two blade heads the best, followed by three and then four, but they all do the trick. Four blade heads may give more assurance of a blood trail, for obvious reason, when compared to a two blade. A three blade head is an excellent compromise that really doesn't compromise much at all.

Yeah....I would shoot the 4 blade at deer....

If you can't pass through a deer with 4 blade blade(unless you hit off shoulder/leg bone) you have issues with your set up or tuning. Deer are nothing more than a paper bag full of shaving cream and a few tinker toys and one ball joint...and there is NO guarantee you are going to get through the ball joint with ANY head...so just away from the ball joint.

Just killed a hog with one. I like the thick main blade and the big bleeders compared to my usual stingers. Great value.

I have harvested several nice bucks with Steel Force Hellfire broadheads. I found them to be "extremely" sharp right out of the box as well. They are very durable and well worth the money in my own opinion. After spending a little time tuning them I have them flying like darts!!! And the blood trails are pretty devastating to say the least!!

Thanks to all for your opinions on these heads. I will be putting them on my short list of broadheads to consider.
