Father's Day Story
« on: June 16, 2013, 11:23:00 AM »
All you Dad's (and those of you with Dads) will appreciate this...

My son been wanting to get into Trad (been shooting wheelbow very well, all the while watching and learning with his lower poundage longbow ) so we started looking at bows. Met Jason Fedora at ETAR last year and he spent a tremendous amount of time with my son, had him shoot various models and we settled on one...

We went to pick it up yesterday and met his father, Mike Fedora. Mike is an incredible font of archers knowledge, a God loving gentleman with a quick smile for everyone he comes into contact with. Mike took my son for over an hour and taught him from the ground up the basics while I listened, took pix, chatted with his family ( Jason and his lovely wife Carol) and just beamed with pride and enthusiasm for more shoots and hunts to come...

When they were done Mike came up to me, put his hand out and said my wife and I have done wonderful job raising such a great son....

The best part...we were in the car driving from the Fedora's shop in Bethel PA to stop at Cabelas for a little shopping trip on way home. I stop at a light, my 14 year old unbuckles, throws his arms around me tells me how much he loves me, what a great Dad I am and how he's having such an awesome day

I have to thank Mike, Jason and Carol. Not only do they make wonderful bows (we now have two of them) but they were instrumental in giving me the greatest Father's Day present I could hope for.

Happy Fathers Day to all >>--->.

This is a heart warming story and if your 14 year old is appreciative of things like that now then you must be doing something right, keep it up! Happy fathers day to you!    :clapper:

For a 14 year old young man to do that means two things:

1) He is a very special young man

2) He was raised by a very special man.

Kids respond well to parents who love and care for them. Perfect example as shown by what happened.

Congrats on having such a great bond.

Thanks for sharing that!  Nice job you and Mom have done.  And I spoke with Mike Fedora a few years ago down at Denton Hill and he spent plenty of time answering my questions.
