which arrows for hunting?

Now I know this will cause a huge debate light vs heavy wood vs carbon etc. but here is my delemma I have two sets of hunting arrows made up for my 49# Cari-bow Silver fox one is a set of cear arrows spined 50-55 with razorsharp 125gr zwickeys with total arrow wieght of about 550 gr. the other set is patriot heatseeker carbons with 100 gr inserts and 125 gr stingers. now here is my problem the cedars have always been dependable on game but on 3-d and target they are not as consistant as the carbons yet I have had trouble recovering game with carbons (2 were with a compound and 1 with a longbow)so what do you all think ( my total arrow wieght with the carbons is about 495gr) which set should I use given that I do shoot the carbons a little better but have more confidence that the cedar will do the job thanks for your help Delin

Either should work just fine. I know that don't help much, but they're both excellent choices. Confidence is a biggie, so going with what you feel confident with is always a good choice.
otoh, maybe the your having trouble recovering game while using carbons is just a coincidence, and you just need more time to gain trust in them.

Both set-ups are very close and there ought to be little difference other than personal preference.
Go with what you like!

Shot placement is most likely the problem.

I like the way carbons shoot, but i don't like how they feel leaving my bows. I myself will stick with wood while hunting. If you have more faith in your woodies use them, confidence is half the battle.

I always heard the heavier the better for penetration. Just my 2 cents

I was throwing around the same thoughts until the Muzzy shoot. I got to try carbons outta my LB. Flew great, but made the bow seem louder to me. I love the stealth of the woodies and the heavier weight for penetration. I can shoot either well, but I will always vote for quiet.
