Arrow question -->> Opinion
« on: June 18, 2013, 10:20:00 AM »
Hello Gang,

For a little over a year now I've been shooting, from my BW PSA Ironwood 60", 56#@29" (my draw) equipped with a 8 strand Bikini string, CE Heritage 250's, cut at 29,5" with 100 gr brass inserts. These set allows me to shoot anything between 125 and 165 grain point or broadhead being 150 grains the top flying weight.

Sadly I came to know that the factory that builded these 100 gr brass insert's stopped producing them in this weight and just offering 50 gr insert's.

I live in Portugal so I'm far from all the bow industry. This made me want other option in case I need to use different arrows, so I ordered some AD trad and some AD Hammerhead and 100 grain inserts for both. I already have a point test kit to barshaft them when they arrive (next week).

My question is. By you're experience, knowledge and intuition, what range of weight may I expect to get them fly well?

Haven't bought any broadhead because my feeling tell's me that I'm gonna need some heavier brodheads then mine (150&165 grains)!!

Thanks.
Diogo

It's early in the day, giving it a few hours should yield some answers. That said, I have no experience with those arrows personally, but from what I have read, you may need heavier tips. Good luck, and I am sure someone will answer this better than I can.

Hello Diego.

Big Jim carries the 100 grain Brass Inserts for Gold Tip arrows - they will fit your CE Heritage 250 as well.

Greetings from another European bowhunter.

TD, you're quite right. My day work is long already and the time seems not to pass fast enough!
Sorry all.

Another question popped in my mind.
I cant seem to find the enough information to use this arrow on Stu's Calculator. It doesn't appear on the arrow options. Anyone knows the specifications to use them on Stu's calc?

yononindo, where are you from? You're one of my bow idols... lol Congrats for you're youtube videos.
Loved you're archers paradox, bowfishing for carps and Border Black Douglas building videos. Oh, and the arrow footing, of course!

It was Big Jim that gave me this info. Nevertheless I've already ordered a dozen more CE and the same brass inserts from 3rivers, just in case...

Braveheart a sponsor here has the 100 gr. inserts so does 3-rivers. I asked both about the no longer being built. They both said not to their knowledge as they sell a lot of them.
