just a tease for the 2013 caribou hunters

Spotted these about a quarter mile from the house on the way to work.  Still growing their summer coats and 7 or 8 weeks of antler growth to come.

That's what I was thinking, caribou in your backyard! Pretty singular experience.
Thanks for sharing.

If you put a bucket of ice water out there, they might decide to stay in the area awhile. I know it's been a wee bit toasty up 49er way.

Thanks guys.

John, you nailed it. Pretty distinctive place. They have been out there more than usual lately, the mosquitos are absolutely horrendous this year and maybe that's why, to be in the wind more. Kindof neat as with the very late break-up this spring it had been thick on the flats with all kinds of waterfowl for a couple weeks or more, staging, waiting for lakes etc to open up elsewhere.

Shirikan- I'll be looking next time I go that way to Castle-off.

Kevin- we must be breaking June high temp records all over the State, and after a very very cold May...
