Easton carbon injection?

Anyone know anything about these shafts? Looks like they are even smaller diameter than Axis?

They are a considerably smaller diameter than even the Axis arrows and they are very expensive...they do use steel inserts and the threads are a different size currently limiting the selection of broadheads that will work

I shot them out of my wheelie bow last year and loved them and yes they are much smaller.  I killed 5 deer with the same arrow so I would say they are also very durable.  Only drawback is they use a different insert which requires smaller threads on broadheads called the deep six heads and only a few companies are producing heads for them.  I shot a cut on impact head called solid broadheads out of them and was very impressed and I think they make a 125 grain.

Ok I see. Yea I'm not interested in something that limits my broadhead choice so much.

The Easton Injexion are the same diameter as Victory VAP.The both have a .166 ID,Easton G-nocks just press in without need of a bushing. They have HIT inserts for use with Deep Six componets that use a 6/40 thread instead of the standard 8/32 thread commonly used for all points and heads. With the Deep Six componets all you have are 100 gr.points or broadheads. But you can also use Victory VAP outserts since they are both the same ID diameter.I put the VAP outserts in my Easton Injexion 400,that allowed me to use 5/16" points with the standard 8/32 threads.Just more available options for points or broadheads and tuning.I like Easton as they have a higher GPI then the VAP,Injexion 400 have a 8.9 GPI compared to a VAP 400 at 7.1 GPI.You can also get outserts for arrows with a .166 ID from Firenock, makers of lighted nocks. If you use the inserts that come with them you are limited,if you change to a outserts you have alot more options for points and broadheads.

I've been studying this a lot. The reviews (2 at Lancaster) are terrible for the VAP outsert -- apparently they bend very easily.

I was counting on hunting with the FMJ Injexion this year. I want to use a 155 grain single bevel helix. But, I can't get field practice points greater than 100 and 125 grains. I was having some 155 grain FP (deep six) made. They arrived today, about 3 dozen (bag full). Alas, they are not the 6/40 threads and don't fit the Injexions,

So, now I'm either going to forgo practicing with a field point and just practice with the broadhead (Deep Six)which will very hard on targets, hunt with a 125 grain broadhead (Deep Six), or go to my Axis Traditionals and a 155 grain, standard threaded broadheand and these new field points.

Bummer.

Thanks gentlemen.  I'm down to my last dozen old MFX and was considering an arrow change.  It won't be anything requiring the deep 6.

Elk if you like the MFX's like I did maybe just go with Axis Trads they are basically the same, or for less cost Beman Centershots.  My two current go-to's.

If you want to use the injexions you have two high quality point options. For screw in point there is the Firenock Aerosert. For glue on you can buy Abowyer point adapters with a deep six thread. The reason the Victory adapters get bad press is that they are made for VAPs exclusively and do not properly fit injexions.

I was at the Abowyer A&H booth talking to Larry. He has the Deep six Field point as well as some of his screw broad heads in a deep six thread no adapters needed.  And has the titanium adapters for glue on heads in a deep six thread.
So your options are huge again lots of broad heads in the glue on department. I am just waiting for me new WHC longbow and Talltines to came in and I  going to give these arrows a try.

I looked at that Abowyer adapter (titanium). If I used glue-on broadheads that would be the ticket for sure!  However, I'm a hard-core Helix user and that one isn't offered in glue-on.

I'll give Abowyer a call about deep 6 field points. If they have them heavier than 125 (all that Easton offers are 100 and 125)then I'm all set again.

I've been also looking at the firenock lighted nock but didn't know they make a screw on point? I'll check that out too.

Update: For completeness I just checked out Firenock. The field points look good but the heaviest is 100 grains. They make an outsert as well but not one "skinny" enough to be flush with the FMJ Injexion.

If I didn't have 3 dozen of these FMJ Injexions I would give up on this project.

I agree with the poster above about the Axis Trads. I was a die-hard MFX Classic user until they were discontinued. I like the Axis Trad even more because while they look like the same finish the new Axis trad's finish is more durable. I often chipped the Classic finish. I have yet to chip the Trads and I've shot them for two years.

Thanks!
