Simmons broadhead vs Lansky
« on: July 01, 2013, 11:39:00 AM »
Hi guy's,

We end reading so much stuff on these subjects that sometimes is hard to get a good idea.

I bought some simmons tigershark 165.

I have a butcher rod and a Landsky. Do you think I will get them sharp with the lansky? Can I get to the concave edge with these flat stones?

Thanks
Diogo

Get the 3 side jewel stick from Ron at KME and you won't have a problem

I too use a Lansky but those flat stones won't work in all places on the blades. X2 on what oldskool said.

If your "butcher rod" happens to be a Jewelstik, do a search, as I've got a post a while back detailing how I modified it with a guide rod to use with a Lansky clamp.

A lansky will work if you have the stones for serrerated blades. I use a flat file and ceramic rod on my interceptors.

Would you guys recommend getting the jewelstick with lansky or kme or getting the simmons steel master?

Why not just use the Simmons sharpener that was made for that type of broadhead, they do a great job and low cost.
