Good deal on aluminums
« on: July 04, 2013, 09:00:00 AM »
I stopped by a local shop yesterday to just looked around. They had a bunch of aluminums all mixed up in a garbage can, so me and the boys went through them. Ended up with a dozen 2016's for 40.00. Thought that was a pretty good deal. He was just trying to get rid of them.

I may have to go back and go through them again, there was soom Autumn Orange ones mixed in with them. The only AO that I saw right off were 2013's.

A dozen 2016's used wisely could easily outlive you...that is some cheap ammo...once you get down to the 13 thousandths wall thickness it will be a different story...they start to get pretty fragile there...still a good buy but see if you can convince him to come down a bit more in price because of that factor...I finally got up to a bow weight that will shoot the 9 or 10 2317 Super Slams that I still have from the nineties...I like carbon and carbon/aluminum arrows, but I flat out love those Super Slams...I am going to go get them all together right now and get them ready to shoot an elk or moose this fall

Yep, if your timing is right....

I cleaned out the local shop of their Alum. XX75 GG were $2 and XX75 camos were $3 each. Sold what I couldn't use and got most of my money back and ended up with almost free shafts.
