Dynamic spine calculations
« on: July 09, 2013, 07:05:00 PM »
Can anyone tell me what my dynamic spine is for my two bows? Stu's calculator doesn't list my bows.

1. Dwyer Defiant- 49@28 drawn to 29+" (#52)

2. Super D-45@28, drawn to 29+" (#48)

*** Both bows have bamboo cores***

If you dont get the answer here try the bowyers bench on the main page.

If you don't get any definitive answers, you can always use a similar bow, or just the "generic" bows. You can measure the center cut and that will put you real close, especially since you have the exact draw weight at your draw. Then you can start the fine tuning, which you have to do anyway.

I use the generic. As bladepeek mentioned, if you know the center cut it gets you pretty close.

Just this week, a fellow tradganger told me that he found theAlan Boice Liberty to calculate very similar to the Super D.  Might be worth a try.

Stus calc says around 50#  48-51. With a 10 strand ff. If you get an 8 strand string from SBD or Rick Bar bee it will bump it up a pound. I use Ricks strings on my Super D.
