Long story short, I bought some 175 grain glue on STOS for woody arrows I plan on shooting this fall out of my new Wild Horse Creek Longbow. I can not get them sharp to save my life. Now, I may not be the greatest at sharpening heads, but I have always gotten heads sharp. Not these STOS!! Can someone recommend a 160 - 175 glue on 2 blade that is easy to sharpen???

Hey Mel!! I don't know if you own a KME broadhead sharpener, but if you don't... GET ONE!

It will make short work of those STOS. Well worth the investment which should only be about the same as a dozen broadheads.

Hi Charlie!! I have a KME, tried it. Also tried a file, and about 5 other sharpeners I have. No luck. I have used STOS in the past, always had great luck with them. Not this batch! I think I might of just got some real bad steel.

I thought you did. Hard telling what the quality is on the new heads. I have no idea who's making them.

Definitely something going on if a KME won't sharpen them!

Lots of other options out there.

The Ace Express is 165 gr and a similar, but bit wider profile. Great steel, straight edges and easily takes and holds a great edge. It is one of my standard favorite broadheads. They're reasonably priced, too!

I had the same problem with STOS broad head's last fall. I have a KME also & finally got them sharp enough to hunt with but it wasn't easy, seemed like I honed forever with the rough stone just to get an edge on em.

I run Simmons through a wheelie. Actually everything but VPA's I run through there. Hard to mess it up.

Take a look at the 160gr. Grizzly. Bill Dunn has made alot of improvements to them, and they sharpen up real easy.

if you looking for a 2 blade for sure.Id say go with a proven head like a delta.i use just a file and finish with a ceramic stick

Ace are very easy to sharpen.
