Grains Per Pound ?

Gold Tip Traditional 3555's cut 30" B.O.P with a 125gr tip. Total arrow weight of 423gr. Shooting a 45# Savannah so, what is my grains per pound on my shaft?

I agree with all above posts.
I'd choose a pretty narrow 2 blade head for deer sized game with an arrow of that weight. A narrow 3 blade might do ok. I know I shot a doe last year with a vpa 3 blade at 17 yds. Total arrow weighed 450 grain. Did not get a total pass through...the point did poke out the other side though. Bow was a 45# whip..very similar speeds ( just a touch faster) to the savannah..had one of those too.

TW, don't you draw like 29"......that would give you about 47-48#. That would drop you to 9.0. Myself, I like a bit heavier arrow, but you should be getting real good speed with that set up.
