Anyone else....

....shoot their longbow differently from their recurve. Years ago I watched the Schulz video "Hit'em Like Howard Hill" and decided to try the swing draw method when shooting my longbow.

It really works for me. I went to this method because I wasn't the best longbow shooter around and wanted to increase my accuracy. I attempted to use the swing draw with my recurves....not good.

I found my old style of "push pull" worked out best. Interested if anyone else out there uses different techniques or methods when alternating
between longbow and recurve.
"Neal...is this heaven?" "No Piute but we are dam close". Top of the Mtn in Medicine Bow Nat Forest.

Yes Sir Joe, Same for me. I have a friend out in Colorado that shoots a longbow like you described shooting the recurve. Best shot I have ever seen with a longbow personally, and not to mention one of the best hunters I know. I tried shooting a longbow like him and it was a huge mistake. Did make for a good laugh though.

I see a lot of Hill style longbows for sale because guys try to shoot them like their recurve and are NOT happy.

I made that mistake. I ended getting pretty good with my hill style bow but couldn't for the life of me shoot it from a treestand so I had to switch back.
