me and my wife both carry the 10x25, it's all I'll carry elk hunting and pretty much everything else, we aren't trophy mongers so all I have to know is, yes it's an elk or no it's not. I'd love to look through the 10x36, but couldn't see it being enough difference to warrant the extra coin for what I do. They are awesome because you can stick them in your pocket. When I go scouting for elk, I will carry binoculars with a wider field of view. It does take a little more effort to find your quarry in a monocular than in a pair of binoculars, but with practice like everything else, it gets easier.
