Sometimes we forget to have fun
« on: August 27, 2013, 08:10:00 AM »
Archery is fun, however often we get caught up in everything else.
Sometimes we just have to go out and have fun.
Now your definition of fun may vary from anothers ,but the point is HAVE FUN.
So whether your shooting stumps or shooting at furry critters ,dont forget to relax and have some fun.
Have a happy season  :)

Good reminder, over the years I have noticed if I fall into a "rut" it is because I am trying to hard and not just having fun and doing what comes natural.

"Sometimes we forget to have fun." Not this guy! It's all fun for me... Stumping, 3D and Hunting... Guess It's Because I Love It So Much!

Got my butt kicked at The Muzzy Shoot and still had a blast! There is enough in life to get angry about, ain't gonna be trad archery.

I think some of the maddening issues I have had with TP may go back to the problem of trying too hard--whether to shoot the best score I can or not screw up in front of my buddies.   :knothead:   I just need to relax and have fun.    :archer2:

That happenes to me every year. By the rut. I'm actually in bad mood usually. And feel like I'm going through the motions out there. Usually cause my time put it don't pay off. I tried real hard last year to slow down and to heck with it. I'm going to be even more laid back and mite stat doing more small game hunting. Good post thanks!

I think about things to much, am I doing this right? Of should I do it this way and it screws me up, I think about it to much and I get so mad that I start thinking about how much money I could get for all my stuff. So now I make practice fun and if I'm having a bad day of practice ill quit and hang it up till tomorrow. What really makes it fun for me is shooting long distance or shooting from my knees or threw grass and stuff.

No doubt having fun is the number one reason we are out there. I have a buddy that puts way too much pressure on himself even before the season starts. He thinks hunting is a contest and he has to win. He's out there just to kill something when most of us guys know the real reason we are out there.
Great advise Slickhead.
Good luck and have some fun everyone!

Good topic. I know guys that just HAVE to kill something or it wasn't a good hunt. (Mostly compound guys). In fact one guy takes his bow and his shotgun when turkey hunting.
ME? I would rather come back without if I have to do that.
The best thing about trad is realizing that it's the whole experience that matters.

I am going to have fun this year. My daughter told me earlier this year "Dad, I want to go hunting."  :)
