Carbon Bows Can Be Quiet, A Few Hours Shooting with a Friend
« on: September 05, 2007, 08:31:00 PM »
Huntrdfk came over to do some shooting and a bow trade. I had a Morrison Shawnee that he now owns that agrees with him real well.(He can tell you how it shoots for him). We shot Ugly my 57" Ballistik, he shot the Shawnee(for some reason once it became his I didn't get to shoot it again LOL), my new Kempf courtesy of him, my CX and my Swan Belly Mount Hybrid.

The Swan is now the quietest bow I own hands down. Found the magic brace height and with just cat whiskers on the string and about the only thing you hear is the arrow thumping the target. The heavier the arrow the more it likes it too. We were shooting 650 grain arrows for the most part.

Of course no shooting at my house would be complete without a wall sacrifice souvenir arrow and David got another one. LOL

Thanks for coming over David it was a blast.

Just wasn't long enough today.......but it was fun.  What Dave hasn't said is that I was at his home about a month ago and shot with him for about four hours or so, shooting his Swans, Horne, Morrison, and Carbon Shrew, along with my Kempf.  I honestly did not go there looking to trade or get rid of my KS, but once I shot that Shawnee with Dakota limbs I just couldn't put it down.  Dave tried to get me to take it that day, but I knew he liked the bow too, and I felt guilty just thinking about taking it.  Anyways, we worked it out, and I am the proud owner of a pretty nice Morrison Shawnee.......anyone want to see pics????

Dave is right about his Swan, it is dead quiet right now, and it hits with authority.

One more thing......you ever see that commercial where the guy hits a dozen golf balls into the water, and then tells his friend that they were from his bag???  Well, the two "wall" arrows were from Dave's barrel.....   :D

While I missed seeing Missy or Jake today, I can tell you that like everyone else I have met from Trad Gang, Dave is blessed with a wonderful family.

Thanks for everything Dave...

Maybe David can take one of what a stone wall will do to an Axis arrow for you Danny. But we didn't take any pics while shooting yet again. We were having to much fun to think of it. Sorry

Aw, do not feel too bad for David,David, I know he is getting something to replace that Shawnee in addition to the new Kwik Stick.

What are the specs on that Kwik Stick?

60" 58@30 and we did a fair deal. Though I offered David the use of the Shawnee for the season and he could keep his bow. He didn't want to have to give the Shawnee back come December though. lol
