Quest Thumper / Ironwood Shafts

Anyone here tried 'em? What do / did you think?  I've got a new bow on order from a local Bowyer and he is a dealer for the shafts. Appear similar to the Arrow Dynamics / Grizzly Stiks, only in black and almost half the price of the Grizzly Stiks. I used the search function first, but only found one reference in Pow Wow section, so I thought I'd post here and see if I could get some thoughts. Edited title to include Ironwood Shafts which are the woodgrain version.

I also see where they make the Ironwood shaft which appears very similar to the Arrow Dynamics woodgrain shafts. It comes in at 10gpi, so should make a great arrow without having to go extreme on the front end to get weight up. Not trying to do a commercial here...just wondering if there are any opinions on them good or bad before I dish out the hard earned cash on them. Thanks!

I have a set of Quest Thumper 40-60# arrows.They are a nice arrow,tapered like AD's.They use an X-nock,same nock as in Easton Axis.They are alittle lighter in GPI then my AD Trad Lite's.They are a good quality arrow and consistent,group well and made in USA.I've only shot targets with mine,I like tapered arrows.I have only been shooting mine for a years out of my Martin Hunter 50#@28,fly great and fast!

Thanks JRY309. The fact that they use the X nock is actually a selling point for me. All my hunting shafts at this point are either Axis Traditionals or FMJ's and my strings are made accordingly. Anybody with experience on live targets? The fact that they are tapered is supposed to increase penetration. However, the fact that they taper back to the size of an Axis (obviously starting much larger), makes me wonder if there would be any real difference in them and the Axis. Obviously should have greater FOC all other things being equal...would it be enough to make a big difference? I know either will do the job if properly placed, but I always like to think "worse case"...what will give me the greatest advantage if I accidentally center punch a shoulder bone?
