What I enjoy most about trad hunters and this site in particular is the the abundance of good people. I have bought and sold gear here without a hitch, and have learned much from the input I've received from my questions asked. They are always answered and then some. So it didn't come as a suprise that suggestions would come from members with sites to see, and what archery related ventures to be had as I visited my son at the USAFA in Colorado Springs.
It was with great pleasure that I received a PM from Matt. Matt is a member of the Academy Archery Club, and offered to show me around. When I PM'd him back and mentioned that I didn't bring a bow but would be interested in a tour, he responded that he'd bring a bow, arrows and glove. After all, with targets in sight it's much better to have an arrow in your peripheral vision. I liked Matt's thinking! On making my way to the range at the Academy, I couldn't pass a check point to get to the range, so Matt made his way to my location to escort me to the range. Once there we had about 45 minutes to shoot. Matt offered up a sweet shooting R/D Belcher longbow that happens to be made 15 minutes from my back door in Michigan (a short walk from where I grew up by Winans Lake). Although I didn't do the bow justice, the best time was meeting, shooting and chatting with Matt. Thanks again Matt, for taking the time as it was one of the highlights of my trip.
