Leg Gaiters ??

Hunting Elk in Colorado this year. Not looking for a brand just whether or not you use leg gaiters.
Trying to decide if worth the investment and time. Will be hunting the last week of September.
Thanks for your input!

Good in rattlesnake country.
Good for keeping snow or scree out of boots.
One extra thing to fiddle with in the morning and at night.

I have had a pair of gortex gaiters for a long time. The only time I use them is when I am hunting with significant snow on the ground. I have been to CO for elk three times and have never taken them with.

I think it depends on the rest of your gear and where your hunting. They can definitely keep your boots and lower legs clean and dry if hiking or hunting through up to knee high wet grass or bushes. Also keep sticky thorns etc out of boots and pants. If your in snow they are definitely an advantage.

I wear gaiters when I'm putting in the miles in high grass. For ticks and heavy dew.

Hmm. Wet grass and ticks... Never thought of using them for that.

I know how wet the grass is here in Ok., in early morning Octobers chasing whitetails. Your pant legs can get pretty wet.
Was wondering about mountain country, my choice of boots won't be the same nor the type of hunting.
Thanks McDave and others, just something else to fiddle with and unless a lot of snow.........well better things to consider.
