I need a glove that has just a but more protection than my Damascus. Any suggestions? I thought about trying a deer skin glove...

Some of the cordovan type gloves might be the thing. I for one adore my Damascus.

I like my Damascus glove, but around 50# is the limit for my finger comfort, at least for more than a few shots. For my heavier bows I like my Dura-glove, it has significantly more protection but I can still feel the string.

I really shoot well with it...but after a dozen shots or so my fingers are hurting, and they stay sore for a few days, affecting my shooting.

Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear has some great shooting gloves, just slightly heavier than a Damascus glove at a fair price. Someone makes the gloves for them here in Denver. You might give them a call. I never shoot with anything else.

Bought a RMSG glove this summer while visiting family out in Denver. So far so good. Liked the old style Alaska Bowhunting Supply gloves with the cordovan tabs but they changed the rest of the glove to cheaper materials in my opinion. When the two old ones I have wear out I'll be using the RMSG for sure.

I've grown quite fond of 3 rivers dura glove. I found that if I get it wet on put the glove on first,it will dry to the shape of my hand.

I used the Damascus glove and liked it but needed a bit more protection. I bought the Berlin Deerskin Archery Shooting Glove from 3 Rivers and have been using it long enough now that I am thinking of getting another one.

I've have both the Damascus and the deerskin/Berlin glove. The deerskin fits your description; it has a similar feel to the Damascus, with a little more protection.
Personally, went to a Full Shot glove last year, and that is now all I use. Different feel and takes some getting used to, but I've come to really, really like it.
The deerskin will be an easy transition for you coming from the Damascus.

I cut small plastic inserts from old gallon milk containers and slip them in the finger stall (Only bottom finger for me gets sore) then I can shoot bows comfortably up to 70+ pounds.
