If the deer by you are related to the ones up here by me that will change when the season starts. I think the deer here haveb2 big meetings each year. One in September where they all pick a place that they all gather and strut during daylight laughing at me as they keep their secret. Then the day before the opener they have another meeting and agree to never go back to the "strutting area" until spring....lol

My wife and I just took a ride thru my bow only area. There was a light rain beginning to fall and they were moving good. We saw 34 deer in one big Alfalfa field and 11 were bucks. Two were over 115-120"s and a couple other 3.5 year olds as well. We than got to a hidden 14 acre  freshly planted rye field about 400 yards away. There was 15 deer in there and one true monster for around here at least 150" deer and he was with another big buck as well. We than hit the last filed which was planted corn that drowned out and grew real spottyand stunted. There were deer all over in there at least 30 that we coould see and at least 10 bucks, none huge but a few shooters. I would say it has been a good year for them and I have to thank a trapper and a coyote hunter. The last 3 years these two have killed at least 25 coyotes between them and that has helped a lot!! Good Luck to all, maybe I shouldn't go to Ohio and just hunt here at home  :knothead:  No, must be losing my mind!!! Ohio will be a blast!! Shawn

It seems deer numbers are up in a lot of places! That will certainly make for a great season.
There is a place for all God's creatures....right next to the potatoes and gravy.

Shawn,
Give us all the dates when you hunt Ohio and directions to your place there so we can hunt it when you're gone  :biglaugh:  Sounds like you have a gold mine of deer there Shawn...
