Setting things straight
« on: September 11, 2013, 08:35:00 PM »
Just a couple things to say
First off, my apologies to Shawn, as some of my comments on a previous post were way off base.
Secondly, I will NOT apologize for being opinionated and out spoken, even though it might not be popular or even disagreeable to some.
Third, I hold no ill will towards Shawn, id hunt or have a cold one with him any time. Opinions vary, and the fact his differed from mine, was no reason for the lashing that I handed out.
Dont get me wrong! My opinion still stands! but my personal attack was not called for.
Paul

I got curious so I searched it out.

We all hunt with stick and string. My woods are open to anyone who wants to come down, even if we may not agree on all things. But I find that trad guys are passionate about many things in life. It gets the best of us sometimes.  ;)

there is no issue with being opinionated and outspoken....but we ALL need to understand that forcing opinions on others and telling a person that their opinion is wrong is like saying Coke taste better than Pepsi..........Depends on who's drinking.....doesn't mean squat....

and for the opinion that hunting has to be about killing.....Again that may be true to some.....but furthest from the truth for others.....and that is OK....

I know an old fellow that has killed way more deer with a stick bow than he could ever count......he hunts every year, scouts, puts himself in a position to take an animal....and doesn't drop the string.......he may be reliving old hunts,  he may be sleeping for all I know....does that make him less of a hunter.......maybe....maybe not....depends on who you ask...

and that's Ok.....Opinions don't mean squat!

I am guilty of The same things as yoy! No hard feelings At all!! Life would be no fun if we all felt The same way! Enjoy your season and your HUNTING as you see fit! I still see In these posts that say things lije Jacobsladder, and I never said HUNTING is all about killing, but no matter What any ones opinion is, it is a fact that is why we hunt, no disputing that fact otherwise we would all carry a camera. I will argue that to The end and it upsets me For anyone who actually hunts to deny that!!! Shawn

I missed it too..

There is so much more to hunting than the actual kill BUT, that is why I go. Hunting is a blood sport for me..

I could be playing checkers, just ain't the same..

The original thread went right over my head, but it's good to see you guys hashing things out.  It's perfectly fine to agree to disagree.  We all get involved in hunting for different reasons.  We all get something different out of each and every hunt.  That's what makes us hunters.  We're all hunting for something when we hit the field.  I think we can all agree that we hunt for the experience.  Good luck in the field this year everybody.
