I think you can wear about anything you want if you sit still and control your scent. Personally I think most of the new camo is too dark without enough contrast.

Mixed camo.  The less I move, the better any of it seems to work.

Olive drab cargo pants and gray or dark t-shirts. A dark wool sweater when it is cold. It does not get that cold here in Texas.

I mostly use a leafy type mesh jacket over, well, anything from a long sleeve wool sweater, to a dark cotton T-shirt, depending on the weather. While not as good as a full blown ghillie, it does a pretty good job of hiding me. I never could get the hang of shooting with a ghillie on. Something was always snagging on briars or getting in the way of my bowstring. Plus, they are hot as the dickens.

For pants, I just use cargo pants. I have some that are camo, but my favorites are Duluth Trading military style.

My wife has made me a believer in the Bush In A Bag, so I will be using it this year more. Problem I always have is that I shoot about as many deer just spooking around with no stool and no camo, makes it hard to want to pack all of that stuff sometimes.

ASAT blends with brown carpet the best...or even Predator Brown. I also use Desert Camo wool sweater.

I like wool plaids if its cool enough, Military woodland camo pants if warm and they last for ever washed in cold water.

And late last year I bought a QuakerBoy Outline Buster, I can use it once set up, its kind of like a leaf suit that your arms slip through.  That way I can still sneek through the brush and green briars.  Ghillie suit and leaf camo snags to much for me.

I wear "jeans" almost 365 days a year. I have a few pair of camo jeans that I usualy wear hunting. They take a hell of a beating, and are easily washed. (my hunting pants usualy get NASTY!!!) They also help keep me from wearing my "good" jeans in the woods!

Up top, I have a bunch of old wool sweaters, shirts & jackets that I wear. They're all "earth toned" colors, and blend in well.

I usualy have no problem getting close to deer.

I wear anything that has a contrast that will break me up. I will be hunting this year with the ASAT leafy jacket and camo pants.

Plaid shirts from Goodwill/Salvation Army thrift stores. With so many shirts there you will find whatever color combination you might need at $ 3.50 per shirt. Pants some are homemade by RIT dye on old jeans, but I have one greyish/green camo pants from Walmart with a lot of pockets. None of my camo is Realtree or Mossy Oak because I see 14 year old girls wearing it who don't even hunt. I'm too old to make a fashion statement. Older style Army woodland BDU's are too dark and become a solid blob. However if you can find a faded set (the ones you weren't allowed to wear on duty once the colors lightened up too far) they're okay. Ironically The Army made you get new BDU's right when the faded ones camoflaged you the best.   :rolleyes:
