Where have all the bows gone?
« on: September 22, 2013, 09:54:00 AM »
I often wonder where the bows have gone from my past. Some of them were nice but I sold them or traded them off.  Back in the 80's, I shot Robertson Stykbow(Montana and Prarie Falcon), Black Widows, Asbel, original Shafers. Personally, I might have had 20. I know that they were  not worn out when I sold them.  I usually only have two bows at any given time. I wonder if there tucked away in someone's closet? I know some of you guys have vast collections but you should see more older custom bows for sale.

I have a Habu Mamushi from 1998 or 1999. It has known several owners.

I was just down in West Virginia two days ago, and cruised as many sporting goods shops as possible, looking for good old sticks, but everything, and I mean everything had training wheels.  Most people see those old recurves and figure they aren't worth even hauling out to the yard sale.  That's my guess.

I've always regrettednot checking out a recurve I saw driving past a local yard sale.

I've bought a Ben Pearson off Craigslist though.
