Bow string wax

I have honey bees so I have excess wax. Is there any special ingrediant in bow string wax or would pure bees wax work fine?

I know that commercial string waxes often have added ingredients to make them faster, better, cheaper--but I use plain beeswax on all the strings I make, and it seems to work fine.  We have a place near where I live that sells all things made for and by bees, so I buy wax from them.  The only thing I do is try to find the "softer" cakes of wax, as they seem to work a little better.  My two cents.

You'll find 3 parts beeswax to 1 part wax toilet bowl ring a common recipe to make the mixture a little softer and stickier.
