Saw 3 nice does and 4 fawn Saturday evening. The wind helped me get within shooting distance, but I didn't have a clear shooting lane. Taking some clippers with me tomorrow. Too windy and rainy today, but it looks like this weather is gonna cool things off.
Haven't seen a buck in weeks.

Tedd - I once lived in Potter County for 10 years. When I first moved there I saw deer and then came along the deer elimination program. Could hardly find a deer unless you were hunting on private land. It's a real shame and has even caused some people I know to no longer hunt. PA could be a great state to hunt on both public and private land if we adjusted the program but the PGC has decided to keep the program running with not much adjustment.

I feel you guys pain. I know exactly where you are coming from. There deer. But few n far between. You have to really work hard to get on some. It is tough to deal with.

I didn't see a deer Saturday, but my morning hunt was cut short to help my nephew track a buck he hit.  Long story short...he's a compound shooter shooting 70 lbs, uses mechanical heads, got practically no penetration, arrow broke off at the insert, blood only about 1 inch up the shaft, no blood trail, and no recovery.  I always gripe at him for using those dang mechanical heads and this is just one more example why not to use them.

It figures that it would rain like crazy today and I have the day off thanks to our government.  It should be good weather tomorrow.

Saw one doe Saturday afternoon, in the wrong field (farmer's field across our property lines).  The heat and humidity were terrible up in Centre county.  I'm looking forward to it cooling off a LOT!
