3 Under nocking point?
« on: October 10, 2013, 07:25:00 PM »
I recently switched to 3 under and have noticed significant improvement in accuracy. My question is this though: right now my arrow is nocked under the nocking point, but should I put a nock UNDER my arrow too so that my fingers do not touch my arrow?

I switched to 3 under and also noticed a dramatic accuracy improvement, been doing it for a couple years and have never had to put a nocking point under, most of your pull tension is on the middle finger in my experience so in theory you have less pressure on the nock than shooting split. If it ain't broke don't fix it, so I'd stick with the current setup if its working

Yes, cheap insurance.  Folks who like their nocks loose have experienced the nock slipping down the string on release, leading to the perception of false tuning issues.  Just leave a small gap to allow for string angle at full draw. (if you don't it will make its own, possibly moving serving rings with it)

I always use 2 nocks. One above and one below the arrow.

"Just leave a small gap to allow for string angle at full draw."

Important point not to be overlooked.
