Warm bag vs heater body suit?
« on: October 24, 2013, 08:54:00 PM »
Hello tradgang members want your opinion on war bag vs heater body suit. I hunt cold weather in Wisconsin. Can you shoot traditional equipment with both?
Heard the warm bag is noise, is this true?
Look forward to your feedback, thanks.

Don't know about the warm bag but the HBS is AWESOME! I wore it twice last year and will never layer like the Michelin man again. Windproof and easy to get in and out and shoot.

I have two heater body suits and have shot most of my deer with them in the last 12 yrs or so. I have a vest with sewn pockets  for  body warmers when it gets bitter cold. I like shooting with less bulk and I think your far more accurate with the suit.  I have the knapsack and  can wear less clothes while walking into the stand.

I have a HBS, and it is very warm! A little bulky to carry in, but it sure works!

Have no experience with the Warm Bag, but have hunted with the HBS for at least a decade. It is, hands down, the single best "accessory" I use while hunting. It makes all day sits in November in Northern Michigan not just bearable, but completely comfortable.

I have no problem using it with traditional gear. It adds a small bit of movement/time to get out of the bag, but it's never cost me a shot. I'm convinced that there is added scent control in being enclosed in the bag and it also masks any movements inside. I can move my hands, wiggle my feet, etc. with little discernible motion on the outside.

I have no experience with the warm bag either, but have used a HBS for 9-10yrs. Love it! Like others have said......great accessory! Wouldn't be with out one.

I've used both. I returned the warm bag. It was VERY noisy and just simply not well made compared to the HBS.

Haven't tried either one...

However, The few times that it's gotten(and I've gotten) REALLY COLD, I just roll up an old wool blanket & take it in the woods with me.

Wrap it around my shoulders, and just slip it off, if I need to shoot.

Works just fine, and it's quiet as a Churchmouse!!!!!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...
