What mid-weight pants for stalking?

I have some heavy weight wool pants, but since I've relocated to ENC I doubt they will get much use. I can only find light weight wool pants (dress pants style) but nothing mid weight. What is everyone else using for early season or warmer weather (50 deg+)? I have searched here and online, with no success. Thanks for any info.

The most important thing for stalking pants is that they don't make a thwap sound every time a a twiggy piece of brush tags them. Some of the light fleese pants are too loud and some of them don't breathe well. Light wool or cotton that gets the stiffness washed out of it are the quietest.

I usualy just wear a pair of uninsulated camo jeans, right up untill the snow flys, up here...
I also work in the train yard here, and usualy wear nothing on my legs all year long except a plain old pair of blue jeans.

Our season goes from mid august til end of nov. I have found my go to pants. The KUIU attack! Cool enough for early season, quiet, add a base layer and I'm good to go late! And they dry fast! Good luck on your search!

First Lite Kanab, Filson Whipcords, or Cabelas Whipcords if you want wool. Some of the military surplus wool pants are midweight, if you can find them. You could also consider Sitka, Kryptek or Kuiu gear if you don't mind the expense.

Moleskin is very quiet and a bit warmer as cotton goes. I have some mid-weight military pants that have lasted for years and they were cheap too. Great on days when it starts out about 32 and ends up 50's to 60's. Don't know what country they came from but I don't think they are US surplus. And I also like fleece camo with or without long johns depending on the weather. I've used a camo fleece suit for years in Oct-Nov, works good up here in the peidmont. Where you are on the coastal plain it is warmer in winter so you might be able to use lighter clothing in early season.

I like m1951 wool pants (US Army Korean War era I think) with a light weight base layer if needed is my favorite light weight choice. Need to play around with dyeing a pair camo.
