What happens when you punch your buck tag?

Inevitably you will see buck after buck after buck. Big ones, small ones and in between. I have seen one doe in 2 weeks.  :banghead:

It is a problem up in my MI place where there are a lot of small spike bucks present.  It could be legal shooting time, but too dark to see those little spikes.

I know the feeling, I was wanting to fill my antlerless tag and all I was seeing was bucks, after tagging a buck I had to move to some different woods just to fill my doe tag.
a young buck playing in a scrape(click for video)

thought he was gonna continue on down the trail but he turned and made a b-line rite back to the scrape.

sorry about the video quality, camera has been dropped and banged around to much, got a new one now.

Do I have to attach the tag to a buck or just punch it and put it back in my pocket for all the good buck sittings???

I'm switching spots in the morning. Most years I have a plan B,C,D, etc. This year being on deer early made be a bit lazy. Now I'm paying the price for not doing my homework.

They will slip up! There is a lot of season left!

I'm a strong proponent of "1-buck rules" like we have in KY and now in IN.  Age structure improves quickly and dramatically!

In years I've filled the buck tag early (not often because I let most age) I switch to squirrel hunting IF I have 1-2 does also down.

I hope to fill my buck tag this week in fact and then come to Indiana (Attica) the week between our gun seasons. Your season opens the 16th and mine the 9th.
