any ideas- arrow keeper Dryad Orion Longbow???

I have a Dryad Orion Longbow, with the 7.25" brace height, I can't figure out how to mount an arrow keeper on it. The feathers run clear up onto the shelf at rest. The arrow keeper I have just won't work, it's a Browning, this model worked good on the recurve I used last year but I don't know what to use now. Anybody got any ideas?

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

How far up the arrow do you have the feathers mounted and how long of a feather are you shooting?I have a Dryad Orion with ACS RC recurve limbs and shoot at a 8" brace and my feathers are not close to the shelf.I shoot 4-4" and 3-5" feathered arrows on it. You say Orion longbow but at the bottom it say with Dryad ACS RC limbs, those are the recurve limbs?

I have an orion riser now with ACS Longbow limbs, just haven't updated my signature. I use 5" feathers, don't know the exact length from the end of the arrow they are mounted, but in static condition, they sit up on the shelf a half inch or so. With the 8" brace height on my RC limbs, it's no problem to mount a normal self stick arrow holder, but with 7.25 brace height it becomes problematic.

if you're using a sta jac or quick lok stick it out in front of the riser. Shouldnt take much draw to make it release the arrow

I have several bows that necessitate positioning my Kwik Lok in a front-mounted position, like Trap says. I've developed the habit of grasping the arrow nock and pushing the arrow slightly FORWARD to release the holder when a deer comes into sight and is heading my way. I mentally think of it as "taking the safety off."
It WILL release at some point if you draw normally, but you may pull your nock off the string if you aren't careful! The way I do it is the first step of my shot sequence, and it has worked really well for me.
It has become second nature at this point. Might be worth a try!

With the right set up, a sta jac or kwick lock in front will usually release if you push your arrow forward while waiting on the critter to get into position. At that point you already have the bow in hand anyway and don't need the holder. Just watch for feather noise.

I first used an arrow holder in 1974. Not knowing any better I put it on the back of the bow. The biggest buck I have taken came by and I drew back and it pulled the arrow off the string and it fell into the limb. The buck took off. Two days later I killed him.
