First new rub found, and just missed seeing it made.
« on: September 10, 2007, 02:25:00 PM »
I stopped to check out another property on my way home from work this morning. I had checked the place out on Google earth first to get a lay of the land. There was one place I really wanted to check out. I get  to the place I wanted to see and there was an old lock on stand right there. It had been there so long, the tree was growing into it. About 10" away I see a rub on a cedar. The bark is laying fresh on the ground around it. In my mind I say "I knew it!" I wasn't the only one. LOL  I climb up into the stand quietly. Once I get up there I hear some thing move. I look over to see a buck standing there. He looked for a few minutes still as a statue. Then he crouched and slinked off through some really thick stuff. I didn't bring my bow though I could have. Just too stinking hot here. I could not have shot a buck any way. Must shoot a doe first there.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Careful climbing into old stands.
