I've been on the other side of that.  I'm allergic to honey bees.  Got stung when I was about 11.  My dad took me to the ER.  I was pretty scared, but also noted that my dad was driving 90 on the way to the ER.  Only time I ever remember him going over 60.  Made an impression on me.

Glad she is OK.  I've been told that there is nothing harder than losing your child.  I believe it!

Thank Go she is OK. Make sure you check your epi-pins , they have a short shelf life. They all should have a expiration date on them and need to be replaced after that date.

Very glad to hear she is ok. I have been in that situation with my son. He passed from SIDS at 10 months in 2003. I preformed CPR for over 20 minutes until EMS arrived(rural area, still an unexcusable response time). I whole heartedly second the call to never let a moment with them go to waste. The week before he passed I had worked 64 hours. 24 hours of overtime equals roughly $600.00. I would give all that I have to have that time I missed with him back. Don't ever let an opportunity slip past. Again glad she is ok.

my two girls always played "naked barbie" so that was the only reason I got into it...(don't know why but the clothes didn't ever last more than 10 minutes on a Barbie)

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Glad you made it in time.

You were blessed in more ways than one, take advantage of it.  I'm glad she is ok.  I think we as parents have a switch that won't let us fathom those thoughts of something happening to our children.  If I sat around and could even think about it- I couldn't handle life on a daily basis.  2 girls, 11 and 13, one son 9.

My niece was in a horrible car accident this spring and just returned home this weekend.  She barely survived the accident and following head operations.  She is learning how to talk again and going through multiple therapy sessions.  She is 11, and we continue to hope and pray for her to recover enough to have a somewhat normal life.  One day she is playing softball, riding bikes and the next... her life was turned inside out.
I spent Saturday coaching my 9 year old sons football team to victory in the first game of the year.  Then we set up a treestand in the woods next to the house and shot bows for a few hours with my nephew.  About an hour before dark, he and I went out and sat in a field next to a haybale watching an oak ridge from about 70 yards.  Saw 16 deer, and one decent buck.  On the ride home, he tells me it was one of his best days ever, and can we do it again next Saturday....I replied- as long as Mom lets us!

Wow Charlie.  Thank God.  We had a similar experience with my 14 year old when he was 18 months with an allergy to eggs.  But it wasn't anything as serious as what you went through with your daughter.  I'm hoping your docs will be able to give you a better solution or epi-pen or something.  So glad the story has a happy ending.  Enjoy the barbies and bows!

gonna spend a little more time with my kids today!  Thanks.

I am glad to hear eveything is ok. That sort of thing kind of puts everything into perspective. Makes things like work seem not so important.
I kind of know how you're feeling. My second son spent three days in the hospital recently. The docs told us he had leukemia ( hope I spelled that correctly ) turns out after lots of testing he had a tick borne virus that causes symptoms and blood tests that appear similar to cancer. A couple of weeks of antibiotics and he was ok, but it sure changed my outlook on things.

I know what you went through, my 9 year old was allergic to milk, eggs and peanuts when he was younger, he outgrew the milk and egg allergy but still has the peanut. the doctor told us that it is rare to outgrow that one, we discovered his allergy when he had a anylphalaxis reaction to a milk based formula and we rushed him in. Glad to hear all is ok.

I appreciate all the kind words.   I just wanted everyone to remember not to take time for granted.  Whether it is with your mom, dad or children you never know when it could be over.

We shot bows today at targets...no critters. She didn't make me play barbies, but we watched a Barbie movie together.   It's good to see her running around today.

brmize, I am truly sorry to hear that you have lost a child...that helps me understand how fortunate I am.  Thank you for your post.

Just remember guys, whether it is shooting a bow or whatever with your family, DO IT NOW! Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Man oh man...that one brought tears to my eyes. I have dreams every now and then that I lose my little one. I appreciate every moment I have him.
