Anywhere to shoot trad in/near Los Angeles?
«

I will be in LA four 4 days, over the Thanksgiving holiday, and would be interested in visiting, or seeing any archery ranges.
the few ranges I researched had extremely limited hours and, supposedly long lines.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

Knowing that place, it is probably a felony to be in possession of anything with a pointy end.

I shot at a range in long beach a couple times. There were several trad shooters there. Was a lot of fun.

If near Simi Valley there is a nice range used by the Conejo Valley Archers. If out in the Chino/Norco area there is very nice range for the Oranco Archers. Try searching the California Bowman Hunters web site. If your visit extends to 12/8 there are several clubs hosting Toys for Tots type shoots where your entry fee is a toy used for then needy.

Try Pasadena Roving archers, their range is located in the Pasadena Oroyo just below JPL. Try going there on Wednesday around 4:00pm as a traditional group of archers is usually shooting on that day and time.

I don't know what ranges you researched but I have never seen a long line... or really any line.
Santiago Park, Santa Ana.
El Dorado Park, Long Beach.
Woodley Park, Van Nuys.
Rancho Park, Los Angeles.
Pasadena Roving Archers, Pasadena.
Conejo Valley Archers, Simi Valley.
Different facilities at each one. See what's closest to where you will be and get details.

I can think of a lot of places to shoot but you would probably be in jail for a long time if you did. Good luck.

Wow !
This information is great !
Lacking a takedown to bring, and since I am only going to be there a few days, I will use the above information to find a spot where I can rent a bow. Next trip, I will look into some of the clubs and meets.
Living right next the worm in the Big Apple, I know about how restrictive a living area can be.
Thanks guys !!
