I gotta say being able to adapt to the terrain and the critters, is the sign of a good hunter, our deer and there habitat out here is much different then back east, I have hunted several midwest states and my hat is off to the guys that can kill big bucks on a regular basis.

In a week of hunting I heard a lot of complaints about the trees or lack of-- how do you put a stand in that crooked SOB??  wish i had a ladder stand-- That buck was in the wide open?? now what?
He stopped 30 yds from me and took another trail--
I was clearing the ground and he was standing there looking at me?? That was a muley!

I'd just grin,-- pretty soon big river had her dialed in, next thing I know we were shakin hands and touchin horns.

There is no written script when it comes to hunting, I dont care what the animal is, I claim it at 90% mental--10% physical you have to have your head on straight. number 1-- the rest will fall into place.

Congrats on the fine deer.  I just sharpend up 3 orginal 160 grain snuffers and put them in my quiver.  Hope to test them out this weekend.  They are big and bad looking.

Tracker 12 make sure you test the flight of those heads.  I have been shooting them for 20 years and routinely have to move my nock point up an 1/8 inch to get perfect flight.  Put one through the pumper of a big does last week, went 30 yards.

Bring back up this topic! With all the 2-blade talk, the 3 blade seems to be left out as a viable head, even from under 50# bows. Here is a Snuffer that passed through a buck for me this year, 45# recurve. You can see the dirt on it that stuck to the blood after the pass through. Next photo is the next day, Snuffer cleaned up, touched back up and again scary sharp, ready for action. Blood trail that Ray Charles could follow.

Nice! When I hear snuffer I think of the 160 grain head. It's just a different beast compared to lighter heads!

Just took a big sow hog with a 165gr snuffer. Lodged in the off shoulder or it would have been a pass thru. Blood trail was amazing and she only made it ten yards.

I love Snuffers.  I'm afraid they are likely fading into history now, but Snuffers will still be killing stuff for a long time to come.

I've been stocking up too!  theres still nothing made that I know of thats even close to the versatility of the "big" snuffer, by versatility I mean how many different point weights you can come up with and still have a huge 3 blade that flys great out of anything..

I started using Snuffers in '83 and loved them. I've strayed from them 3 or 4 times, thinking I was missing out on something. Now I'm going to carry them until I walk into the halls of the happy hunting grounds.

And, of all the hunting celebrities, and I just know he would hate being referred to as that, Roger Rothaar stands tallest of all in my book.
