3 piece take down all wood bow??
« on: September 11, 2007, 11:17:00 AM »
I had a thought....can a 3 piecer be built using only boo or hickory backed limbs and use standard bolting methods to the riser stock.

Longbows are great, but for travelling or storage, a breakdown option would be nice.....and I don't want to use glass if I can help it!

Thanks

I'll be trying one in the next couple months.  The plan is for a bamboo backed osage (slight r/d)with a short riser as the stress on the limbs will be considerable. I'll try to do a buildalong when I get it started.  Cheers, Matt

Marc St Louis built a beauty a while back and just revamped it and has it posted on Primitive Archer. He said it will be his hunting bow for this year.    Pat
