Standing corn fun
«

Been really cold here this weekend and with a 10 to 15 mph wind and 18 degrees tonight I decided to try sitting in a little patch of standing corn instead of up in a tree in the wind. I had 4 deer within 10 yards tonight. Smaller than I was interested in but what fun. Corn really blocks the wind well too.

I think most of the deer around my area are in the corn, which I have none of. I did have a couple bucks come in almost close enough tonight, so things are looking up.
They plant the darn corn rows so close together these days, I don't know how you'd get a shot off anyway.

I've hunted corn fields like that before. I was nearly run over by a huge doe. I wouldn't have had time to shoot her with a claymore!
She was moving fast, and I don't think she even saw me. I could have touched her if my mind wasn't thinking "Oh Crap"! Really funny.
